Sometimes getting your child to brush their teeth is quite difficult and frustrating. However, it doesn’t have to be. Dr. Natalya Ramsay and our dental team have some tips that can help you motivate your child to brush their little chompers.
The first thing you can do is get your child a new toothbrush. When you go to the store, let your child select the brush that catches their eye. This might be a brush that has Spider Man or even a Disney Princess. Some brushes even play music while your child brushes. This might make oral hygiene fun and enjoyable.
The second thing you can do is educate your child. You can do this by saying there are little bugs on the teeth that can hurt the teeth. If they brush regularly, those bugs will be washed away and their smile will be safe.
The third thing you can do is ask your child what their favorite candy is. When they tell you, tell them that because their favorite candy has so much sugar, they need to brush their teeth. If they don’t brush their teeth, they shouldn’t have their favorite candy.
